Elise Mumford began dancing in her hometown, Chicago, IL. Prior to attending Skidmore college, Elise trained with the Joffrey Ballet in their pre-professional program and attended Interlochen Arts Academy as a dance major in high school. Throughout her time at Skidmore, she performed major roles such as Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty, danced in a Cunningham site-specific work, and worked with guest choreographers Brian Reeder and Dusan Tynek. Most recently, Elise performed the lead in Martha Graham’s Steps in the Street, staged by Susan Kikuchi, at the Joyce Theater in New York City. She has worked at the Academie Americaine de Danse de Paris, in Paris, France and she choreographed a work for the Tang Teaching Museum the summer of 2016.
Elise graduated from Skidmore College in May, 2017, with a double major in Dance (B.S.) and Art History (B.A.), and a business minor. She graduated with honors in Dance. |
